The
After
an angler joins the Rod and Reel Club as an International Angling Contest
Member (look for the online sign-up form on the 1st of March), and completes
a short multiple choice Angling Quiz
based on International Angling Contest
Rules, they may begin to fish against other Contest members
for the bragging rights to, "who is the best all around
angler in the world". The
$40 membership fee in The Rod and Reel Club's International Angling
Contest not only qualifies you to fish the Yearly Angling Contest, but
offers you participation in one of the worlds most famous and prestigious
fishing clubs. In the members only section of the Club's web site you
will be able to "chat" on line with other Contest members, view live
web broadcasts of the Club's Wednesday night meetings and interact with
a wide range of guest speakers, read articles and gather info that will
improve your angling skills and help catch you more fish, access real-time
standings in the Angling Contest and view your catches and points position,
and best of all, visit the Club when in Miami Beach, as an International
Angling Contest participant. Awards will
be given for Master Angler (most points overall), most points in each
zone, top points in Spin, Plug, Fly, and General Divisions overall,
as well as, each of the six zones. Additionally, champions will be crowned
for most billfish releases,top freshwater angler, top points fish in
Spin, Plug and Fly, most points in combined, and most points in combined
fly tippet classes. All individual fish entries of 200 points or more
are eligible for a Rod and Reel Club International Angling Contest "outstanding
catch" Citation. Citation awards and Anmgling Contest Membership Certificate
can be downloaded after completion of the requirements. Please feel free to e-mail us with your questions.
