ANNUAL CONTESTS
& CHAMPIONSHIPS

ANGLING YEAR
The Angling Year
during which the annual championship and prize awards will be determined,
will start on June 1st and continue through May 31st of the following
year.

OVERALL ANGLING CHAMPION
The member who accumulates the greatest total
of points during each angling year will be judged the Year's Angling
Champion, provided that they have entered at least 15 different species
including at least 3 different species each in Fly, Spin, and Plug during
the current angling contest year.
This champion shall not be eligible for any
other division championships during the same angling year.
No member will be permitted to hold the Angling
Championship more than once in 4 years.

YEARLY DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS
The member who accumulates the most points
during each angling year in each of the divisions shown below, will
be judged the Year's Champion of that division.
1.
Zone Champion: One member from each of the six zones will win the
Championship
from the Zone in which they reside. Requirements parallel the
Angling Championship
regulations in every respect.
2.
Fly Casting
3. Spin Casting
4. Plug Casting
5.
Light Tackle General ( Total points in #4, #6, #8, #12 and #20 combined)
These Champions
must have entered at least 10 different species for the particular division
during the current angling year.
No Division Champion will be permitted to
hold any other Division Championship during the same angling year. If
the Member qualifies for more than one Division, they will be judged
the winner of the Division in which the angler has the most points.
No Member will be permitted to hold the same
Championship more than once in 4 years.

SPECIAL AWARDS
A. GAR WOOD AWARD
The
Member who, during the angling year, makes the greatest total number
of entries of released sailfish, spearfish and marlin, will be honored
with the Gar Wood Award. This member must have at least 5 release entries
of these species.
B. CARLTON TWEED SPIN ANNUAL
AWARD
The
Member who during the angling year has the top points fish in the Spin
Division.
C. JACK BRYSON PLUG ANNUAL AWARD
The Member who during the angling
year has the top point fish in the Plug Division.
D. C. SCOTT FLETCHER FLY ANNUAL AWARD
The Member who during the angling
year has the top point fish in the Fly Division.
E. EDWARD W. "LUKE" GORHAM ANNUAL
CASTING AWARD
The Member scoring the most combined
points in the Fly, Spin and Plug Tackle Divisions, with a minimum of
2 weighed species entered from each Division. No member will be permitted
to hold the Gorham Trophy more than once in 4 years.
F. JOHN EMERY MEMORIAL AWARD
Awarded annually to the Member who
makes the highest individual fish points entries in each of the Fly
Fishing Categories. To qualify, an angler must enter at least one fish
worth over 200 points in four of the five fly fishing categories.
